Met Gala 2024 red carpet photos are stunning with a lot of celebrities in New York City. The event happens every year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
This year’s Met Gala theme was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” and the dress code was “Garden of Time.”
Some of these outfits are rarely seen by the public. They’re so delicate that they can’t be hung up, as they might break. Instead, they’ll be safely kept in glass cases, resembling the story of Sleeping Beauty.

Zendaya
Zendaya, one of the event’s co-hosts, wore a custom-made gown by John Galliano for Maison Margiela. The gown was inspired by one of Galliano’s previous designs for Christian Dior. It featured layers of sapphire and forest green tulle, adorned with 3D grape and feather details, along with a matching hat.
Later, she changed into another dress, a black off-the-shoulder gown with a long train, paired with a fresh floral headpiece. This second gown was a vintage piece from Givenchy Haute Couture by John Galliano, bought from Rita Watnick-LILY et Cie. She wore this for her final walk up the steps of the Met Gala.
Lana Del Rey
Lana Del Rey’s custom Alexander McQueen dress portrayed the wild growth of a garden. It had hand-embroidered bronze-colored branches, reminiscent of artist Alberto Giacometti’s sculptures. These branches crawled up to create a tulle headpiece that hung like cobwebs.
Cardi B
Cardi B appeared in a huge, flowing black gown that almost filled the entrance. Nine people surrounded her, assisting in extending and carrying her dress up the stairs. She wore a black headpiece and added a bold diamond and emerald necklace, along with earrings and rings, to complete her look.
Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union
Dwyane Wade is wearing a lilac suit by Atelier Versace, paired with Christian Louboutin shoes and Cartier jewelry. Gabrielle Union is dressed like a mermaid in a sequined gown from the Michael Kors Collection. The bodice is lavender, transitioning into green sequins that look like scales. She’s also wearing jewelry from Tiffany & Co.
Greta Lee
All the guests embraced the “Sleeping Beauty” theme of the Costume Institute show, but Greta Lee stood out. She wore a gauzy Loewe shield dress that resembled a ghostly interpretation of a gown. The dress seemed to float around her body as if searching for a vibrant personality to bring it to life.
Tyla
Tyla performed the hit song “Water,” but her Met Gala dress was quite different. Her Balmain gown appeared to be made from sand, giving it a unique look. The dress had a molded breastplate, adding a sexy touch, and an hourglass-shaped handbag, which added a playful element. The dress was delicate, with sparkly gold sand dusting her skin, fitting the theme perfectly. It was so fragile that she had to be carried up the stairs. This combination of campiness, sexiness, and impracticality made it a standout at the Met Gala.
Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian looked stunning on the Met Gala stairs. She arrived wearing a custom Maison Margiela Couture gown. The top part was made of a soft, heather gray material, while the rest of the dress had silver metallic flowers and leaves, giving it a cinched-waist look.
Bad Bunny
Bad Bunny, one of the event’s co-hosts, donned a romantic navy jacket and pants adorned with a scarlet stripe. He paired this ensemble with a Renaissance-style hat, a custom fabric bouquet, and jeweled sunglasses, all from Maison Margiela by John Galliano. Also, his shoes, Christian Louboutin for Maison Margiela, resembled hooves.
Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky
The Australian actor attended the event with his wife, actor Elsa Pataky. It was her first time at the Met Gala, and she looked stunning in a shimmering gold gown, resembling a goddess. Her hair was styled in a long ponytail that reached her hips, adorned with a gold headpiece. Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth opted for a cream three-piece Tom Ford suit.
Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez wore a stunning, almost see-through outfit. As one of the co-chairs, she arrived in a custom-made Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown. The sheer dress had intricate jeweled designs, with the top resembling a coral reef and a beautiful train. Lopez accessorized with a large diamond necklace and matching bracelet, and she chose nude platform heels to complete her look.

Gigi Hadid wore a Thom Browne gown that showed her shoulders and had ruffles with black edges and yellow roses. It looked very striking.
