At the same time, Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry took the stage to introduce exclusive glimpses, a trailer, and an extended scene in 3D. These sneak peeks were reserved solely for exhibitors and members of the press.

In the movie about the origins of the iconic Hasbro toys, Chris Hemsworth voices a young Optimus Prime, and Brian Tyree Henry voices a young Megatron.

What is the Official Description of Transformers One?

The official description of Transformers One reads “the long-awaited origin story of how the most iconic characters in the Transformers universe, Orion Pax and D-16, went from brothers-in-arms to become sworn enemies, Optimus Prime and Megatron.”

In his opening remarks in Las Vegas on Thursday, Hemsworth recognized the heritage he now shares with original voice actor Peter Cullen. He said “I am thrilled to portray a young Optimus Prime and show a different aspect of this character that viewers haven’t witnessed yet,”

What is the Official Description of Transformers One?

Hemsworth also acknowledged the part Peter played by voicing Optimus Prime for forty years. He said he had learned the lessons of “strength, gentleness, and compassion”.

The voice cast also features Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Jon Hamm, and Steve Buscemi, where Johansson plays Elita-1, and Keegan, B-127.

Meanwhile, in the released clip, Optimus Prime, Megatron, and their crew are given the ability to transform after proving themselves.

They struggle a bit with their newfound powers. Later, they hop on a cargo train and catch their first glimpse of the surface of their home planet, Cybertron, where the story takes place.

The surface is depicted as a vast area filled with rock-like formations that, like the robots, change and evolve.

Who is the Director of Transformers One?

Josh Cooley, a former Pixar member who directed and co-wrote the award-winning “Toy Story 4,” leads as director. Cooley also received an Academy Award nomination for his work on the screenplay of “Inside Out.”

The animation is handled by Industrial Light & Magic. They crafted the animation for Transformers One in a distinct style, differing from Disney, Pixar, or even Paramount’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

The visual approach is more sleek and digital, suitable for depicting Cybertron before the intense conflict between Autobots and Decepticons. Despite its metallic appearance, Cybertron still exudes vibrancy and a sense of vitality.

“Transformers One” is scheduled for release by Paramount on September 13th, 2024.
