Fans have been wanting to know the real reason for Matthew Perry’s Death, and it has finally been discovered in an autopsy report made public on Friday.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office stated that the actor from the television series “Friends“, died from an accidental overdose of Ketamine with “drowning, coronary artery disease, and buprenorphine effects” as contributory factors.
Ketamine is an illegal recreational drug because of its numbing and hallucinogenic effects. Apart from the medication’s use by doctors as an anesthetic, researchers are investigating its possible application as a mental health treatment.
According to the autopsy, Perry had been receiving ketamine infusion therapy for just “one and a half weeks” prior to his death. He had supposedly been clean for 19 months.
However, it was stated that “the ketamine in his system at death could not be from that infusion therapy, since ketamine’s half-life is 3 to 4 hours or less.”
How Did Matthew Perry Die? The Real Reason for Matthew Perry’s Death
Perry, who starred as Chandler Bing in the popular TV sitcom from 1994 to 2004, passed away on October 28, at the age of 54.
He was discovered unresponsive in the swimming pool at his Los Angeles home. At 11 a.m., witnesses informed officers that Perry had played pickleball.
At approximately 1:37 p.m., his assistant left the house to perform errands and returned at 4 p.m. to see him “floating face down”.
Perry was carried by the assistant, who then dialed 911. Records state that after pulling him from the water, the responding paramedics declared him dead.
Before his death, Perry was not afraid to talk in public about his problems with drinking and drug usage. His battles with these demons occasionally resulted in hospital stays for a variety of illnesses. Perry said that he has been in treatment and rehab centers for over half of his life.
The TV star talked about some of the health issues he had encountered over the years in his 2022 memoir, “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing.”
These included a string of medical events in 2018 that included pneumonia, an exploded colon, a brief period on life support, two weeks in a coma, nine months with a colostomy bag, and more than six stomach surgeries.
Following his passing, messages of condolence from friends and family flooded the internet, with many honoring Perry for his acting prowess, generosity, and bravery.
Rest in peace Matthew Perry, we miss you!
