The wait is over for fans of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power as the long-awaited trailer for season 2 has been released. It shows what viewers should expect in the series when it comes back to Prime Video on August 29, 2024.

The trailer shows Sauron in this new elven form, suggesting that he will continue his manipulative tactics, despite the elves’ increased awareness. This, combined with other hints, shows that Sauron will try to give these rings of great power to different individuals in Middle-earth.
It also highlights the possibility of creating the nine rings that will finally destroy their wearers and turn them into the scary Nazgûl. It sets the stage for the big war in Season 2.
Meanwhile, Tolkien’s writings narrate Sauron’s announcement of the war on the elves after they find out about his treachery. The teaser shows the scenes of a siege which probably refers to Sauron’s attack on Eregion which was the elven realm where the rings were made.
