Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez officially ended their marriage after being married for almost three years. Their divorce was finalized by a Los Angeles court on Tuesday.
The actress and singer filed for divorce from Dalton six months ago. They had been living apart for over a year. This made the divorce smooth and quick since they had agreed on terms before getting married, and didn’t have children or major disagreements.
Their settlement terms were finalized in October, and they had to wait six months for the judge’s order to be valid.
According to the agreement, Ariana will pay her ex-husband a one-time sum of $1,250,000 with no ongoing support.
She’ll also share half of the money from selling their Los Angeles house and contribute up to $25,000 for his lawyer’s fees. Like most divorces in California, Ariana’s petition mentioned irreconcilable differences as the reason for their separation.
When Did Ariana and Dalton’s Relationship Begin?
The couple started dating in January 2020 and spent the pandemic together. They appeared in Justin Bieber’s charity video “Stuck With U” in May and got engaged in December.
These former love birds tied the knot in a small ceremony at Ariana’s home in Montecito, California, on May 15, 2021.
Subsequently, they announced their split in July 2023, and Ariana filed for divorce in October. She shocked fans by deleting all wedding photos from her Instagram.
Sources revealed they tried to fix things months before, but it didn’t work out. Dalton even went to London in January to try and save their marriage.
Meanwhile, fans speculated about infidelity after Ariana released her single “Eternal Sunshine.”
Has Ariana Grande Moved On?
Ariana quickly moved on to a new relationship with her current boyfriend and Wicked co-star, Ethan Slater after she announced her split with her ex-husband in July 2023.
Ethan and Ariana reportedly started dating while filming Wicked in London in December 2022. Their relationship became public, causing them to be “stuck together” and unable to go back to their previous marriages.
In July, Ariana’s new partner Ethan filed for divorce from his wife, Lilly Jay. They had been married since 2018 and had a son in August 2022. Regardless, both couples announced their splits around the same time in July 2023.
Ariana separated from Dalton just three days before confirming her relationship with Ethan, who then filed for divorce from Lilly. He mentioned irreconcilable differences and requested joint custody of their son.
