Zayn Malik, the One Direction singer, finally opens up about leaving One Direction. Zayn has, at last, returned to the spotlight and discussed what transpired during his claimed altercation with Yolanda Hadid. He has clarified his event for 2021 and given his justifications for keeping it confidential.
On the podcast “Call Her Daddy,” Zayn discussed the real cause of the issue with Alex Cooper. Not only that, he also opened up about why he left the band!
When the band refused to sign new contracts, according to Zayn, he realized something wasn’t right. In addition, he intended to leave swiftly and be the first to release a solo album.
He continued by saying, “I knew something was happening, so I just got ahead of the curve,” he said on the podcast, adding, “I was like, ‘I’m just going to get out of here; I think this is done’. He also said,
“If I’m being completely honest with you, I was like, ‘I’m going to jump the gun here’. I’m a passive dude, but when it comes to my music and my business, I’m serious about it and I’m competitive, so I wanted to be the first to go and do my own thing. That was the reason.”
The members of 1D started having problems with one another after five years of superstardom following their X Factor debut. “We’d get sick of each other if I’m being completely honest,” admitted Zayn.
He explained that he had a great time being a part of One Direction. “There were great experiences; I had great times with them, but we’d just run our course,” he said. You can listen to the podcast here.
