For the first time after Jamie Fox was admitted to the hospital earlier this year for an undisclosed health issue, Jamie Foxx has spoken in front of the public.

Jamie Foxx’s family said that he had been hospitalized in Atlanta in April due to a “medical problem.”

Foxx’s daughter Corinne stated at the time: “Fortunately, owing to prompt action and excellent treatment, dad is already on the road to recovery. We are grateful for your prayers and are aware of how loved he is. The family requests discretion at this time.”

Foxx stated in a Saturday Instagram video: “First of all, I want to thank everyone who has prayed and sent me messages.”

Jamie Foxx on his medical condition

Jamie Foxx stated in an Instagram post stated- “I cannot even begin to describe to you the lengths [my health issue] went to and the lengths to which it brought me back. I experienced something that I had previously believed I would never, ever experience.” He added- “I know a lot of people were waiting and wanting to hear updates but, to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that.”

“I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying and cracking a joke, doing a movie [or] television show. I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”

Although he expressed gratitude to his family for keeping the specifics of his condition “airtight,” Foxx paid praise to his sister Deidra Dixon and daughter Corinne, whom he said had “saved” his life.

I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful it is to have your family support you in such a way, and you guys know they kept it tight and didn’t let anything leak, he added. They shielded me, and that’s what I wish for everyone in situations like these.

Foxx denied rumors that he was blind or paralyzed, yet he did not provide any specifics about his health.

Foxx said: “I went to hell and back, and my road to recovery had some potholes as well, but I’m coming back and I’m able to work, so I want to thank the people who let me work, and I just want to say that I love everybody and I love all the love that I got.”
