Gina Carano is suing Disney and Lucasfilm for removing her from the television series “The Mandalorian” with the help of the X god, Elon Musk.
The federal court in California received a 59-page legal suit on Tuesday containing numerous Star Wars allusions and accusations of wrongful termination and retribution.
According to the lawsuit, the actress received different treatment compared to her two male co-stars, who were not punished despite writing or sharing internet messages that denigrated Republicans as Nazis.
Carano is asking for damages of $75,000 (£60,000) and a court order for Lucasfilm to recast her.
The court document claims that the Walt Disney Company was to blame for the agency terminating her appointment. However, it does not mention UTA.
What Led to Gina Carano’s Dismissal?
The former mixed martial artist who played Cara Dune in the Star Wars films was fired after making a now-deleted post in 2021 that compared the political environment of Republicans and the Nazi persecution of Jews.
The post read “Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews”.
Reacting, Carano took to her X account, then known as Twitter where she wrote that after “20 years of building a career from scratch,” she was dismissed from “The Mandalorian” by Lucasfilm and Disney because of posts she had made on the platform that was not “in line with the acceptable narrative of the time.”

Why is Elon Musk Helping Gina Carano?
Musk made a promise in 2023 to assist anyone who has experienced bias at work because of any post they shared on the platform.
Therefore, Joe Benarroch, head of business operations at X, stated in a press release: “We are proud to financially support Gina Carano’s lawsuit, enabling her to seek vindication of her free speech rights on X and the ability to work without bullying, harassment, or discrimination. This demonstrates X Corp’s commitment to free speech.”
