At the Grammy Awards on Sunday, it was speculated that Taylor Swift ignored Celine Dion on stage as the Canadian icon gave her the 2024 Album of the Year trophy.
Dion surprised everyone by making a rare appearance at the Grammys and giving Swift the award, which she received 27 years ago.
Swift, who was a 2022 record nominee for Midnights, made history by being the first person to win the award four times. She then made a dramatic entrance onto the stage of the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
It looked as though she was staring at someone else backstage while Dion gave her the trophy. This got a lot of criticism from fans all over the world.
Soon after, a photo of Swift and Dion cuddling backstage surfaced, implying that there were no issues between the both of them.
However, some viewers couldn’t help but notice the moment, and took out their displeasure on social media.

Meanwhile, Swifties came through to defend their queen. They pointed out that Swift had excitedly cheered and sang “The Power of Love” by Dion as she stepped onto the stage for her unannounced appearance at the end of the event.

The Swifties couldn’t stop Jimmy Kimmel on his live show from making a light joke about Swift “also making history by becoming the first white woman to ignore Celine Dion”.
He made this joke while talking about her fourth Album of the Year triumph for “Midnights.”
